New Addition

Here is the first picture of Riley Grace Tate, born at 9:29PM on Sunday Feb 27. She came in at 22 inches and was 6 lbs 14 oz. Everyone is doing fine and we are all thrilled with the good news.

Some Christmas Pictures

I found these while I was going through some pictures and since its almost Christmas, I thought it was a good time to post them. My mother didn't throw out things so these were some pre-Neal Christmas cards. I think everyone should especially notice the curly hair on Kurt in the one picture. The other picture was taken in my parents dining room in Hinsdale. There was no date on it but it looks like early 1960's. Merry Christmas and a good 2011 to all.

As we were going through our "box of remembrance" I came to some pictures of Jessica with her mom, grandmother and great-grandmother. With all the excitement of a new generation, they seemed appropriate to post. Mary Ann always used to say how beautiful all her grandchildren were. You can just see the love...

More news from North Carolina. Jessica started her own blog with baby stuff on it. You can check it out at http://jessatate.blogspot.com. She just started it, but there is an ultrasound picture on it and if you look at the entries you'll be able to find out if my grandkid is a boy or a girl.

Good News from North Carolina

Jessica and Kirk announced that they are expecting. The stork is scheduled to arrive in late February.

I had to include this one. Steff and Dan - that really is your Dad in this picture. This is somewhere around 1978-79 or so I think.

Here is a shot that was taken in my parents basement. I'm not sure when but it looks later than 1971.

T This is a group shot that was labelled 1958. Theres no month or day, but that is baby Kurt sitting on Uncle Carls lap.

Here is one of Aunt Betty probably taken around the same time. There was no date on this one either

Here is one that I really enjoyed. Grandpa was a good sport about stuff like this. I don't know where he got this hat and jacket. There were a couple more pictures of him in the coat, but this was the best one.

Here is a picture of the 5 cousins - take a look at the crew cuts and the look on Kurt's face. I think he was getting ready to watch The Birds with Neal.

These were all from an album that I just found the other day. My Mom had labelled it 'Family 1958-1971' and it has a lot of pictures in it from both sides of the family. It also has a lot of Kathy's baby pictures which I hadn't seen in a long time. I'll post some more as I have time.

Prettiest girl on campus

Carl picked the prettiest girl on campus to marry! Happy birthday, Ann.

I thought others might like to see the news from the 1950's at IIT. (Since I am still in a learning process with blogging, they printed out in reverse order.) I will mail these to Ann in her card. .
